Open Forge is a place for Veterans, Active Duty and First Responders and Law Enforcement to come work on projects, learn new techniques, or just come to hang out! No experience necessary.

Be your own elf! Work with a Black Horse Forge blacksmith to create a small Christmas item and take it home! This event is open to everyone — children are welcome as long as they’re accompanied by an adult. While you’re here, get your picture taken with Santa and browse our local vendors offering unique gifts, crafts, and holiday treats. It’s a perfect way to kick off the season with some hands-on fun and festive cheer!

Black Horse Forge is run entirely by volunteers—right down to the board. No one here receives compensation; the only reward is the pride and satisfaction that comes from serving our mission and community.

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to forge a traditional blacksmith knife using time-honored techniques combined with modern equipment.

Under the guidance of our instructors, you’ll heat, hammer, shape, and finish your own knife to take home.
